Hi - My name is cheryl - I am a 51 year old single woman. I was in a auto accident on december 9, 2007.
I was hit by a postal employee 5:30am on a Sunday monring. The big four door car she was driving had one of those big signs on the side of it "US GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL".
sHE RAN THE RED LIGHT WHILE I WAS IN THE LEFT HAND TURN LANE.
My injuries were :
1.) Fractured Pelvic bone
2.) Torn ACL and Meniscus (knee)
3.) accute shoulder sepparation (grade 4 I believe ) required 3 surgeries.
My case will not settle before January ..because it is a FEDERAL Torte case.
In the mean time ...I have spent every dime I had saved and sold everything redeemable to live on.
My Cobra insurance ended recently ...about 30 days before it ended ...I countacted Blue cross cobra ands applied for my own policy. It took under writting at least 4-5 weeks to respond. By the time they did respond my cobra had ended. (keep in mind - cobra plan was through blue crss... the injuries sustained were caused be the "Us goernment offical;" not me I just got a letter from Blue cross under writting..that i was denied benefits...because..it would be considered "pre-exhisting" - so again i was denied ..by the company that had me through cobra...seems ilogical...
I can not get food stamps ..because i have a car that is worth more than 2,000. (so should i sell my car /...and then not be able to go to my dr.'s appointment..or grocery shopping or anythning else...just to get foood stamps?
I have no family ..I am un married or divorced. any money lent to me would be paid back and can be insured with a lien from my attorney.
I am so scared that at any moment i am going to be homeless.
